My "Happy Tin"

As many people know, being happy 100% of the time is pretty impossible. We all have our down days. However, when me and my mum were in London the other day, I spotted this "Happy Tin" and thought it was a lovely idea. I love looking through this on days when I'm feeling a bit down and of course, you can't have a Happy Tin without some kind of sweet or chocolate! Anyway, I thought I would share with you today what I like to keep in my Happy Tin.

A little photo of what the tin looks like. The tin is from the company call "The Bright Side" and they are available online at www.reallygood.uk.com. I got this for about £10 I think which I didn't think was bad. I love this brand as the things written on the items always make me laugh - shall definitely look into purchasing some more!

A little overview of what's inside

First of all, I have this little cute, Steffi key ring which represents all my teddies sitting on top of my wardrobe that i like to cuddle when I'm feeling sad

A packet of my favourite sweets - Percy pig and pals - is the next thing in my tin

A few photos are up next that make me happy when i look at them - everyone loves photos!

A couple of photo booth strips from when me and my best friend went to the clothes show live!

A packet of candles is up next. I'm far too attached to these as they just look so pretty - but they remind me to light a candle, which always makes me feel better

My favourite book - The Fault in Our Stars is in my tin as I love this book and I could read it over and over again and never get bored of it!

Finally, I have my all time favourite film, A Cinderella Story, which everyone knows is one of the best films ever and this always makes me feel happy when watching it.

I hope you've enjoyed this insight to my Happy Tin.

Top 5 Under £5

Evening everyone! With my first exam on Monday and many, many more following it - blog posts are going to be down to about one a week, as I'm sure anyone else currently taking GCSEs will know, because these take up an awful lot of time. I'm still hoping to produce at least one a week, which will most likely be on a Saturday evening but is open to changing. Anyway, lets get on with this weeks post.

I am sure many of us are aware of the constant "Top 10 under £10" but I thought I would switch things up and to under £5.

First of all, I have the Collection Lasting Perfection 16 Hour concealer costing only £4.19 which I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother talks about. This concealer has a lovely creamy consistency and the coverage is definitely a full coverage but doesn't look cakey. I use this for both under-eye and on blemishes and I love it for both. I must have re-purchased this product so many times and I shall definitely continue to do so.

My second favourite is another well-loved product in the beauty blogger world - Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder costing a measly £3.99. I have very oily skin and this powder helps keep my make-up in place for about 4 - 5 hours without any touch ups, however with touch ups every few hours, this can keep my make up in place all day.

Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo is my next favourite. This little beauty costs £4.99 meaning it just fits into my under £5. Sadly enough, one of my main reasons for loving this product is that it means I can be lazy with my eye make-up- this comes in so handy when I have to get up for school because we all know a 7.30 am get up should just be made illegal as who would ever want to be up at that time.

Coming to the end, we have my Rimmel London Scandleyes Waterproof Liner in Nude with would put you back about £3.99 I believe. I was never into the whole 'white liner on your waterline' thing as I always felt it was too harsh and just looked unbelievably unnatural. Saying this, it took me several months to finally pick this up - but when I did I assure you it has never left my daily makeup routine. The only thing about this would be that I wouldn't say it lasts all day long as I usually have to top this up around 2 in the afternoon - however I am quite happy to do this.

Finally I have yet another Rimmel product - the Kate Moss Lasting Perfection lipsticks at £4.49. These lipsticks have such an amazing staying power and although I am yet to try the black packaging one - the matte lipstick is my holy grail lipstick and I shall carry on wearing this throughout the summer months despite it being a wine red. They last very well and even after eating and drinking the lipstick is still there 9 our of 10 times.

I hope you have enjoyed this little post and I shall see you next week.

Boots Beauty Haul

Evening once again everyone:) Over the a past few weeks I've popped into Boots a few times as well as making an order online! I usually try and avoid ordering online at all costs because I just go completely overboard! But I notice the Rimmel Kate Moss mascara was coming out and after being so impressed with the lipsticks I felt it would be a good idea to try the mascara out - but the thing that really drew me in was the 180 year offer! 180 people got the chance to receive multiple free products which obviously I couldn't pass up!

So here is an overview of all the products I've purchased recently.

Now I know magazines are strictly beauty but they were purchased from Boots so there we go:) Anyways, I picked out my favourite magazine - Company, which happened to come in a pack with Cosmo and two gorgeous spring nail polishes. I have the other two from a few months ago and they aren't great as the tend to chip after a couple of days but for a specific event these would be lovely!

So, recently I had my hair re-ombre-ed and this meant I needed some new shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair. I already had some purple shampoo so I just needed some everyday things! I love, love, love Aussie because it's just so nourishing and it smells great too. I haven't used these yet so I'm seeing whether they live up to the other types of Aussie I've tried before!

A quick overview of all the Rimmel products I got - all of these were only £7.49 saving around £28 I think!

First up, we have this gorgeous Rimmel Scandleyes Shadow Stick. This is the Kate version and the shade is Rose Gold, however I'd say this was more on the gold side. I absolutely love this! I tend to only wear neutrals so this is perfect for me!

Next up is a very scary product for me! Now, Kate's Matte lipstick in 107 is a staple lip colour for me all year round, despite it being a very deep, dark, wine red. This lipstick is in the shade 33 and is a very bright bubble-gum pink. I am very happy just wearing my reds and nudes and even occasionally throwing in the odd coral-orange sometimes. But I don't do pink (except for very, very deep pinks). However, I feel, in some ways, excited to now have this in my collection as it means I might be a bit braver and wear this - if not I'm sure I'll find a good home for it!

Moving on, Rimmel are definitely trying to push me out of my comfort zone. Here we have a gel eyeliner in Emerald. Yep, a green. As I've said, I like neutrals and black eyeliner - but never in a million years would I go near a green one. This however looks so gorgeous and I'm determined to use it some how.

After picking out my Rimmel Mascara, I thought I might as well order some bits I've been lusting over for a while so I am eligible for free in-store delivery. I've been contemplating this product for a while, and I know everyone's loving the tinted brow-mascaras recently - especially after Benefit's release. I felt this would be a nice thing to add to my collection as well as taming those brows!

Finally, two gorgeous lipsticks from L'Oreal. These are the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Privee Collection. On the left is the Barely Golden by Eva Lon which is a slightly peachy-pink undertoned nude. On the right is the Barely Greige by Cheryl which is just the perfect nude.

Top - Bottom: Cheryl Lipstick, Eva Lon Lipstick, Kate No.33 Lipstick, Kate Rose Gold Scandleyes.
Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this little (or not so little) beauty haul.

April Favourites

Afternoon everyone, two posts in less than 24 hours?! Maybe it's a sign of things to come?
Anyway, April's over and we're into May. May; the month of exams, study leave and the anticipation of no more school. Oh, and my April Favourites too. Which seem a bit eye heavy in the beauty department...

Okay, so, first  in my favourites are my beauty bits. On the left I have my Estee Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick in 33 Apricot Sun. I'm sure anyone living in England is aware that the sun is finally starting to make an appearance. I find this lipstick is so lovely for that mid spring to summer stage as it's not a bright, bright coral yet it is a lovely colour for when the sun is out.
Next I have been loving just sweeping my Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze - I find this is perfect for those lazy days where you really can't be bothered with loads of make up and just want a small amount of colour on the lid.
Towards the front we have my Seventeen Smoulder Gel Eyeliner; I've been doing the classic winged eyeliner look now for over a year and I have always used a black felt tip liner (typically the Collection 24hr Felt Tip Liner one). I wanted to branch out in products to achieve this look with and after discovering I fail MISERABLY at liquid liner - I opted for trying a gel one out. I love this as it lasts so long and with felt tip liners they can loose their blackness throughout the day where as this does not! If you're looking for a cheap black gel liner to try out - at £3.99 you can't go wrong!
Finally, I have my favourite eye combo for the moment - it's very subtle but is something I've really been loving! I put the No7 eyeshadow in 45 Wheatsheaf all over the lid and then add my MAC eyeshadow in Honesty across the top part of my eye and into the crease a bit. This look doesn't create much depth but it makes it lovely for a day time look.

My favourite candle of the month is the Wild Passion Fruit by Yankee Candle. Its a very fresh fruity sent. I got this in a duo along with Pink Dragon Fruit and I have been burning this one constantly!

I've been loving Catching Fire in the Hunger Games trilogy this month which I am reading on my Kobo. I got this for Christmas and I have been using it non-stop. I keep it in my Cath Kidston sleeve which you can see in the back ground.
Finally, for this month I have loved the TV series Pretty Little Liars - I started watching it at the end of March and finished it by about mid April - which is three seasons worth!

I hope you've enjoyed this post

Beauty Blogger Tag

Evening my lovelies, I'm very sorry for my absence:( But  with exams coming up everything is a bit hectic! Anyways, I thought I'd do a quick easy post for you all to get to know me more! So lets go...

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

My hair is naturally curly, which means I tend to get very lazy with it

2. What is your natural hair color?

My natural hair colour is like a mid-brown colour, nothing too exciting

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I don't tend to dye my hair, but I've really taken to ombreing it. I've done this both at home and at a salon

4. How often do you wash your hair?

I wash my hair every other day

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?

Pretty much the same everyday! Sometimes I might switch it up and put the front part up or pin some bits out of my face but other than that it doesn't change. the last time I straightened my hair was new years!

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

Definitely at home - I'm only 15!

7. How often to you change your nail polish?

About every four days as this tends to be when my nail polish starts to chip a bit

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?

I barely do them in the summer! I hate my feet, I'm a dancer and I have "dancer's feet" especially as I've been on pointe for a few years now - I hide them away as much as possible

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?

Around 15 - 20 minutes

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

I'm really weird when it comes to doing make up! I do my base first (foundation, concealer and powder) then my eye brows and eyes and then my blusher and contour ect. It's just the way I've always done it!

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

A bit of both - some types I collect and some types I don't - but I'm definitely moving more towards collecting!

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

Practically never - only for dance shows

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?

Yep! I don't have a school uniform so it's got me into a really bad routine of a full face everyday

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?

If I'm home alone or anything then no, but if family are coming round for a specific reason I will do

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?

No! I will on the odd occasion if I really can't be bothered though

16. How many high end products do you have?
Not too many - a couple of bits from Urban Decay, couple from MAC, a nice collection of Estee Lauder inherited from my Nana's make up collection when she has a clear out and a couple of bits and bobs from other places

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

I deep clean them all every other week or if I change foundation I'll deep clean my foundation brush then and spot clean my eye brushes every few days

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

When I'm getting dressed - although not always a good idea when you're running late for school!

19. How often do you change your handbag?

I use my Cath Kidston most of them time but will sometimes change it

20. What time do you get up & go to sleep?

I get up about midday at the weekend and 7.30 during the week. I don't fall asleep at a set time annoyingly enough

21. How often & when do you workout?

I dance twice a week and run once or twice a week

22. Left-handed or Right-handed?

Right

23. How tall are you?

5"8

24. Do you speak a foreign language?

I'm just scraping a C in French GCSE and I can speak the basics of Spanish and Italian

25. How many pets do you have?

None *cries*

26. How often are you on Blogger?

Not enough

27. Do you read the comments posted blogs?

All the time, I love getting reccomendations

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

I make a "mental note"

29. How did you come up with your blog name?

I made an attempt at starting a YouTube Channel and that was my username

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?

Nikon D3100

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)

I never do, personally

32. What is your favorite color?

Blue, although my favourite colour to wear is burgundy/maroon

33. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?

Company all the way

34. Do you swear?

Nope *smiles innocently*

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

Well it's 10 at night so snuggle up in bed and read a good book before an early night I think!

Thank you for reading!
